Hello! Welcome to my website.

I work in the area of theological and religious studies, having earned a PhD in the field from Georgetown University in 2023. I was a visiting assistant professor at Oberlin College in religious ethics and critical thought from 2023-2024. Presently, I am a visiting assistant professor at Hamilton College in religion and ecology.

My current project is about religious change and Buddhist environmentalism. This project situates Buddhist history and ideas within a naturalistic story of human life in language, along an animal continuum. The project sits at a nexus of my research interests: in East Asian Buddhism, environmentalism, theories and methods in the study of religion, and moral philosophy informed by ordinary language philosophy.

More broadly, my research moves in two directions: putting political economy into an account of religion; and putting religion into natural history.
